Glowing Hawaiian Saturday

7 Jul

July 9th will get you going towards the Volcano National Park and beyond. The Cultural Festival at the park features art, music and dance, 10:00 to 3:00.

Once there it is just 5 miles more towards Hilo for a once a year special at 2400 Fahrenheit glass sale. Just swing off the road to Old Volcano Road between mile markers 24-23.Look for the sign.  Michael & Misato Mortara are very much in touch with other glass artists around the island and have invited several to join in.  You will get your eyes dazzled by the colors and designs. You will also have a chance to meet those who are dedicated to the glassmaking art. This venue is open from 10:00 to 4:00.

Music and Art Spring Fling at Punalu’u Bakery Gardens

25 Apr

Saturday, May 30th. Thank goodness I don’t live too close to the Punalu’u Bakery. MMMmm!
I’ll be there this Saturday to offer Big Island Arts Annual copies to all who come to enjoy the music and art and….. tempting frosting covered… lots of choices.  The grounds are beautiful, parking is ideal.  Come at 9 for the opening fanfare and stay to 4:00pm if you like.  This is a Spring Fling put on by KSA, Ka’u School of the Arts.  The opportunity for the artists to gather on this occasion is free so you can be sure there will be some great buys.  So come on down to the South of the island. Punalu’u Bakery is in the town of Na’alehu.  It’s a tiny town so you won’t get lost; there is just no way.
